About me

Als Autodidakt beginnend, war Improvisation von Anfang an konstanter Bestandteil meiner musikalischer Ausdruckswelt, und damit eng verbunden auch die Komposition.
Erste Berührungspunkte fanden mit einem Synthesizer statt, an dem ich direkt mit Klang arbeiten konnte, ohne an ein System gebunden zu sein. Diese Erfahrung sollte mich nachhaltig beeinflussen und begleiten.
Nach mehrjähriger Ausbildung am Klavier, privaten Studien der Komposition und Musiktheorie, sowie dem Studium der Philosophie an der Karl-Franzens Universität Graz, begann ich den Zweig Komposition und Musiktheorie an der Kunstuniversität Graz.

Bereits früh mit verschiedensten Stilen in Berührung gekommen, und stets Inspiration auch aus anderen Künsten beziehend, umfasst meine künstlerische Tätigkeit Ensemble- und Solowerke, sowohl der zeitgenössischen instrumentalen Musik, sowie der experimentellen elektronischen Musik und Live-Performance. Dazu gehören auch Projekte unterschiedlichster Art, wie Hörspiele, Theaterstücke oder Kunstfilme, sowie Videogame-Musik, in welchen eine Synthese/Symbiose von Klang und Bild, Sprache und Musik, … angestrebt wird.

Starting as an autodidact, improvisation has been a constant part of my artistic expression from the very beginning, and led to composition. Some of my first encounters with music and sound, were free sessions on a synthesizer, that gave me the possibility to work with sound itself, regardless of any musical system. This experience stayed as a constant influence on my artistic work.
After studying piano, further self education in the field of composition and music-theory, and enrolling in philosophy, I started a composition and music theory program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
Due to early experiences with all kinds of art, and drawing from influences of diverse musical styles as well as other art forms and aesthetics, my work spans from contemporary music to experimental electronic music and live performance. This includes various projects such as ensemble and solo pieces, radio plays and experimental movies, with the goal to fuse visual media and other art forms with sound art.
I am also active in creating video game and theatre music, where I strive to merge visuals and sound to a complimenting experience.
